"Children pay 5,000 RWF, citizens 10,000 RWF and foreign visitors 20,000 RWF, based on their ID type." First make sure the form has the field the price depends on: a dropdown ID Type with the options CHILD_ID, NID and FOREIGNER_ID.

The form field the scenarios test: ID Type
Pricing → Paid → Dynamic. Each scenario: Price Value, amount, currency, one condition.
Price Value 5000 RWF. When ID Type Equal To CHILD_ID.
+ Add Scenario. Price Value 10000 RWF. When ID Type Equal To NID.
Three options, three scenarios, no overlap. Test each option on the portal before you submit to QA.

Scenario 1: children, 5,000 RWF

Scenario 2: citizens, 10,000 RWF

Scenario 3: foreign visitors, 20,000 RWF
A clinic charges by Patient Category (Government Employee, Private Patient), Consultation Type (Standard, Urgent) and Insurance Status (Insured, Not Insured). Base prices: Government 4,000 / 7,500; Private 8,000 / 15,000 (Standard / Urgent). Insured patients get 20% off.
Count before you click: 2 × 2 × 2 = 8 scenarios, each with three conditions.
The clinic: 8 scenarios

The three form fields the scenarios test

Scenario 1: three conditions, all must be true
Your turn · spot the bug in Scenario 2
The screenshot below was taken from a real configuration. Scenario 2 should be Government + Standard + Not Insured → 4,000. Look at the third condition before you read on.

Scenario 2 as configured
Gotcha · what this bug does in production
Scenarios 1 and 2 now have identical conditions. The engine takes the first match, so a government, standard, insured patient pays 3,200 and Scenario 2 is never used. A government, standard, not insured patient matches no scenario at all: submission fails with
INVALID_DYNAMIC_PRICE_CONFIGURATION_WITHOUT_PRICE_VALUE. Copying a scenario and forgetting one value is the most common pricing bug QA finds.

Scenario 3: Government + Urgent + Insured, 6,000 RWF

Configure scenarios 4 to 8 from the table on a practice change request, then apply once per row on the test portal and check the amount on the bill.
A property permit costs 50,000 / 150,000 / 300,000 RWF by size (<100 m², 100–500 m², >500 m²), plus 50,000 for Urgent Priority, plus 100,000 for Commercial. The form has Project Size (number), Service Level (Standard, Urgent Priority) and Property Type (Residential, Commercial). How many Price Value scenarios do you need?
A. 3 size bands × 2 service levels × 2 property types = 12 combinations, each with its own amount (from 50,000 up to 450,000 for a large, urgent, commercial project). A formula could do it with fewer scenarios, but with Price Value every combination is a scenario.
