Price Logic is a pricing rule defined once for the organization by a central team (usually Finance) and reused by many services. You do not build the calculation: you pick the rule and tell it which form answers feed its inputs. One update of the rule applies to every service that uses it.
before you start
The rule must already exist and be active for your organization; service managers cannot create or edit rules from the Pricing step. If it is missing from the list, ask the team that maintains pricing rules. Also make sure the form already has the questions that will feed each parameter.
Pricing step → Payment Type Paid → Wizard view → in the Price block choose Price Logic.
Select Price Logic lists the active rules of your organization.
Only if the rule has several formulas (versions or variants). Leave it empty to use the default.
Required: the currency the calculated amount is charged in.
For each parameter choose Map to Form Field (the applicant's answer) or Use Constant (the same value for everyone).
An unmapped parameter keeps the Price block incomplete.
Only questions of a matching type are listed
| Parameter type | Form questions you can map |
|---|---|
| Number | Number questions, text questions restricted to digits |
| Yes / No | Checkboxes, single-choice questions with exactly two options |
| Choice | Dropdowns, single-choice and multi-choice lists |
| Text | Text inputs and text areas |
| Other | All questions |
▶ Video walkthrough in the Rise course: Video 1 – Setting up Price Logic: open the Pricing step, set Payment Type to Paid, choose Price Logic in the Price block, then select the pricing rule, the formula and the service currency.
▶ Video walkthrough in the Rise course: Video 2 – Mapping Price Logic parameters: link each input the rule needs to a matching form question, or set it as a constant, until every parameter is mapped and the Price block is complete.
Gotcha · changing the rule clears your mappings
Select a different rule and every parameter mapping is cleared, and the selected formula too if it does not belong to the new rule. Confirm the rule before you start mapping.
Tip · Price Logic is for the price only
The payment account, service payment code and merchant blocks are configured separately (lesson B6) and do not use Price Logic.
A parameter of type Yes / No is not offering your dropdown "Resident?" with options Yes, No, Unknown. Why?
D. The mapping list is filtered by type. Three options is not a Yes/No question: change the question or ask for a Choice parameter.
