A service manager cannot create a service. The organization admin does it in the organization portal and assigns the people who will build and review it. This is where our demo service was born.

Step 1 · Pick the institution first
Gotcha · the wrong institution bounces you to the dashboard
The active institution is remembered per session and can change between logins. If a change request link sends you back to /dashboard/stats, you are in the wrong institution: switch first, then navigate.

Step 2 · Services → Create

Step 3 · Fill the new service form
Service types in the form
| Service type | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Normal | A standard service: one form, one application, one workflow. Everything in this course. |
| Journey, Journey V2, Journey V3 | Services that chain several services into one guided journey (a parent application with child applications). Only when the SRD asks for it; the journey mapping is configured by the platform team with you. |

Step 4 · The new change request is created and appears in the service manager's list
Tip · who can be picked
The service manager and QA reviewer lists only show accounts that already exist with those roles. If a name is missing, request the account first through the service desk; the organization cannot create it.
Who creates a new service and chooses its service manager?
A. The organization owns the service: it creates it, assigns the builder and the reviewer, and later signs it off.
