The seven steps of the service builder
| Step | What you configure | Lesson |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Templates | Start from scratch or copy an existing service configuration | A3 |
| 2. Overview | Name, summary, category, who can apply | A4 |
| 3. Form Builder | The application form (sections, blocks, fields, validation) | A5, A6 |
| 4. Pricing | Free or paid, price, payment expiry, account, merchant | A7, B1–B6 |
| 5. Workflow | States, events, actions, office assignment, certificate, next steps, processing time | A8, A9, B7–B9 |
| 6. Officer Form | Extra fields the officer fills while processing (the third-party form) | A10 |
| 7. Translation | Kinyarwanda, French and English texts for every label | A10 |
Templates are other services' configurations. Using one copies its form, pricing and workflow, which you then adapt. For a first service, Create Without Template teaches you more: that is what we did for the demo.
Gotcha · Continue saves the step
Each Continue saves the current step, even if you changed nothing. Walking through all steps of an improvement re-saves every one of them. That is harmless, but it means "I only clicked through" still counts as an edit in the QA diff.
